Julián Kominek was born in 1990 and holds a degree in Documentary Film (UNSAM). He is a director and cinematographer. His first steps in documentary filmmaking were marked by a strong fascination with archival footage and the heterogeneity of recording formats. This connection led him to begin filming on film, discovering in photochemical processes an awareness of time and diverse aesthetic and narrative possibilities that now constitute one of the central pillars of his work as a cinematographer. He regularly works with film formats, and his vision is characterized by simplicity and sensitivity. He is also an instructor, supported by Cinelab UK and other leading film labs worldwide. He leads workshops on Super 8, 16mm, and 35mm film and firmly believes in the importance of preserving and sustaining the use of film in all its formats.
